I started painting with oil colours during spring 2020, quickly building an expressive technique that allowed me to easily switch from a figurative style to a more modern one.
Paintings are made on Fabriano "Tela" paper (100% Alpha-Cellulosa), specific for the use of oil colours, or on 4mm thick canvas panels with cotton fabric.
The oil pigments used are from the Winton series by Winsor & Newton, used straight from the tubes, without the use of additives or mediums. The first layer is prepared by applying Amsterdam acrylics or burnt umber oil with the addition of Liquin Original.
Each portrait is performed in 4 different phases which have variable duration according to the complexity of the subject and the size of the surface:
After 3 months, each canvas is protected with an anti-UV painting varnish by Lefranc Bourgeois.
